"The CD track-list was unfathomable since some tracks could only be accessed via the previous one, or were even split in two and scattered. Artificial crackles were added in places to make it sound like a badly worn vinyl record. Outlandish interludes - a premature burial, an apocalyptic news bulletin from a station identified as ‘K.I.L.L Radio’, a recital from a book of Voodoo – leapt out inexplicably. All served to plunge the already volatile horror-tinged chaos into a mentally unhinged spiral. With no pretentions to any rationality the sleeve notes were as deranged as the audio captured within, and in stark contrast to their cartooning contemporaries the front cover graphically redefined ‘Psychobilly’ fans’ trademark flat top hairstyle as a fatal head injury. What can truly be said about ‘The Last Train To Purgatory’ is that everything about it was off the rails".

lyrics

Being the last man in space is sure a whole lot of fun
fifty light years since I seen anyone
The crew of this junk I left behind somewhere, bound to be dead now but I don't care
Now I'm hanging out in a bucket of rust
The planet that I grew up on blown to dust
And this little stowaway with no air-fare
Let the paying passengers gasp for air.

The cosmos is for me to roam
Got no planet I can call home
Got any kind of life about?
The last man in space is gonna wipe it out.

The last man in space is gonna cruise evermore
No traffic cops to stop me breaking a law
And if you're picking this up on your radio
Jump in the fastest thing you got and go
It's just a matter of time before your planet is found
Hide on the surface you can hide underground
A little bit bored, little bit tense
Little red button blow you out of existence.

The cosmos for me to roam
Got no planet I can call home
Any kind of life about?
The last man in space is gonna wipe it out.

Being the last man in space is sure a whole lot of fun
fifty light years since I seen anyone
The crew of this junk I left behind somewhere, bound to be dead now but I don't care
Now I'm hanging out in a bucket of rust
Planet that I grew up on blown to dust
And this little stowaway with no air-fare
Let the paying passengers gasp for air.

The cosmos is for me to roam
Got no planet I can call home
Got any kind of life about?
The last man in space is gonna wipe it out.

Over and out.
